ABOUT THE
BIOTECH BEACON

The Biotech Beacon is a curated platform highlighting the people, companies, and ideas shaping the biotechnology ecosystems of the Midwest.

The Beacon explores how scientific innovation becomes real-world impact by studying companies from early-stage startups and venture funding to the technologies powering modern biology.

Through ecosystem maps, industry insights, and conversations with founders, investors, and scientists, The Biotech Beacon aims to illuminate the pathways that turn discovery into companies, therapies, and new tools for research.

With a particular focus on genomics and the growth of regional biotech hubs, The Beacon serves as a resource for anyone curious about where biotechnology is headed and how innovation takes shape beyond the traditional coastal centers.

The platform also highlights the infrastructure that makes biotech ecosystems work from research institutions and incubators to funding networks and emerging companies.

Because breakthroughs don’t happen in isolation. They happen in ecosystems.

The Biotech Beacon exists to illuminate them.
